A great little spot for breakfast or lunch. Mom and Pop owned and open Thurs thru Tuesday. Most food spots are closed on Mon and Tues in Dunsmuir, but Tootsie’s is open! It has a cute, little interior and is great to take home to Castle Creek Escape for an easy breakfast.

I wandered into Dunsmuir’s newest restaurant on a friday morning. As I was tying Vincent up in the front, someone popped their head out the door to let me know it was okay to bring him inside the restaurant, they are dog friendly and even have dog treats. After ordering an amazing spinach, feta croissant, I took Vincent out to the back yard patio where I discovered umbrella covered tables and live music. Bee Kind Bakery serves coffee and tea, fresh baked pastries, breakfast sandwiches and protein bowls. They also have desserts & cakes and a frozen menu. Located just a short 4 block walk at 5853 Sacramento Ave. Hours: Monday through Tuesday - closed, Wednesday through Sunday - 8am to 2pm. Vincent approved (Dog friendly).

Just two blocks from Castle Creek Escape, Dunsmuir Brewery is a brew pub offering a variety of hand crafted ales and fine food. My favorite is the duck carnitas tacos! Another favorite is the Elk Burger served on a bed of lettuce and without the bun. Outdoor patio is dog friendly. Vincent approved. 

Just two blocks from Castle Creek Escape, Pizza Factory is an easy walk for pizza, pasta, salads and other casual favorites. Best of all, dogs are welcome inside, so no one has to be left behind!

Dining Room – Is a separate room with an open door to the kitchen and glass folding doors into the living room. There is seating for four and plenty of board games for a family gathering.

Yaks is one of my favorite places to eat in Dunsmuir. My personal favorite is the Cilantro Bomb with a side of garlic fries—ask for the fries without added salt, because the Parmesan cheese makes them salty enough! If you split the burger with someone, they’ll even divide it onto two plates and give each of you a smaller burger.

Outside, there are quite a few picnic tables set up near the parking lot, along with a cornhole game. Dogs are welcome to join their owners there.
